1. Our Privacy Philosophy

We believe your financial data is nobody's business but yours. Unlike other apps that harvest your data to sell to advertisers or report to third parties, ShiftEarn was designed from the ground up with privacy as the foundation.

• Local-First Storage: By default, all your earnings data, shift records, and personal information is stored locally on your device only.
• No Account Required: You can use ShiftEarn without ever creating an account or providing any personal information.
• No Reporting: We do not report your earnings to any government agencies, employers, or third parties.
• No Data Selling: We never sell, rent, or share your personal or financial data with anyone.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Data Stored Locally (Default)

The following data is stored only on your device and never leaves your phone unless you explicitly enable cloud backup:

• Shift records (dates, times, earnings, tips)
• Job information (job names, worker type, schedules)
• Goals and progress tracking
• App preferences and settings
• Dining and expense records from built-in tools

We cannot access this data. It exists only on your device.

2.2 Optional Cloud Backup

If you choose to enable cloud backup, the following applies:

• Your data is encrypted before leaving your device
• Backups are stored on secure, encrypted servers
• Only you can decrypt and access your backup data
• You can disable cloud backup at any time in Settings
• You can delete all cloud data at any time
• When disabled, you revert to local-only storage

2.3 Anonymous Analytics (Opt-Out Available)

To improve the app, we collect anonymous usage data that cannot identify you:

• Which features are used (not the data entered)
• App performance metrics (load times, crashes)
• General usage patterns (session length, frequency)
• Device type and operating system version

We DO NOT collect:

• Your actual earnings or tip amounts
• Your name, email, or any personal identifiers
• Your location data
• Your employer information
• Any financial account information

3. How We Use Your Data

The limited data we do collect is used only to:

• Provide the app service you requested
• Fix bugs and improve app stability
• Understand which features are most valuable
• Develop new features that serve workers better

We will never use your data to:

• Target you with personalized ads based on your earnings
• Sell insights to employers or industry groups
• Report information to tax authorities or government agencies
• Build profiles about your work habits for third parties

4. Data Sharing

We do not share your personal or financial data with third parties, with these limited exceptions:

• Service Providers: If you enable cloud backup, we use encrypted cloud storage providers to store your data securely. They cannot read your encrypted data.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, but since we don't have access to your local data, we can only provide what we actually possess.
• Business Transfer: If ShiftEarn is acquired, your privacy settings and protections will remain in effect.

5. Data Security

We take security seriously:

• Local Encryption: Data on your device is protected by your device's security features.
• Cloud Encryption: If you enable cloud backup, data is encrypted with AES-256 encryption before transmission.
• Secure Transmission: All network communications use TLS/SSL encryption.
• No Password Storage: If you create an account, passwords are hashed and salted - we never store them in plain text.

6. Your Rights & Controls

You have complete control over your data:

• Access: All your data is visible directly in the app.
• Export: Export your data to CSV/Excel anytime (Pro feature).
• Delete: Delete individual records or all data from Settings.
• Portability: Your data is yours - export and take it anywhere.
• Opt-Out: Disable cloud backup and/or analytics at any time.

7. Children's Privacy

ShiftEarn is intended for users 16 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

8. International Users

ShiftEarn is available worldwide. If you enable cloud backup, your encrypted data may be stored on servers in the United States. By using cloud backup, you consent to this transfer. Your data remains encrypted and inaccessible to us regardless of where it's stored.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email if you've provided one. Continued use of ShiftEarn after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
